An Overband Magnetic Separator is a type of magnetic separator used to remove ferrous contaminants from materials conveyed on a conveyor belt. It consists of a large electromagnet that is suspended above a conveyor belt or a vibratory feeder. When the magnet is activated, it generates a magnetic field that attracts and lifts ferrous materials such as iron and steel from the conveyed material stream.

The separated ferrous contaminants are then carried away from the conveyor
